Dreamworld

An original idea by Prime Render Studios.

The story

A world to escape to.
A reason to return.

Facing bullying at school and online, a group of friends discover a way into Dreamworld through lucid dreaming. Here, beyond the edges of ordinary dreams, they become fearless warriors, firebirds and fantastic creatures.

But the longer they stay, the harder it becomes to leave. As the boundaries between dreams and reality begin to blur, the friends must find a courage greater than any imaginary power: the courage to be themselves.

The visual world

Imagination,
unrestrained.

Developed in collaboration with Dave Cooper, Dreamworld brings together strange creatures, playful perspectives and richly imagined landscapes. Its expressive dream realm contrasts with the more familiar world the children leave behind. Characters and environments gradually lose their colour and vitality as the children withdraw from reality.

As those worlds begin to merge, the visual language evolves with the story.

Finding strength
in who we are.

For Veljko and Milivoj Popovic, Dreamworld is a story about growing up in a world of likes, dislikes and digital isolation. It is an adventure built around connection, forgiveness and the strength of real friendship. The film encourages children to recognise their own worth, without measuring themselves against followers, likes or an idealised online identity.

“We want to empower them to realise they are perfect without filters, they are worthy of love without thousands of followers.”Veljko & Milivoj Popovic · Directors
